Jackson, MS- The Belhaven women's softball played in three games on Friday in the Belhaven Bash and prior to the first pitch Belhaven honored their 2011 seniors;
Ashley Mottola,
Rachel Wright,
Rebecca Rousseau,
Christina Jaques, and
Sarah Burns. The Blazers defeated Indiana Tech in a double header 8-0 and 9-1 while topping Blue Mountain 6-1 in the third contest.
The Blazers eight run ruled the Warriors in the first contest putting up two runs in the bottom of the first inning.
Rachel Wright hit a two run single bringing in
Annalee Carr and CeeCee Austin. The Blazers put up another run as CeeCee Austin brought in Christina Jacques with a hit making the score 3-0. In the bottom of the fifth, the Blazers took the game by tallying up five runs.
Rachel Wright scored off a walk with the bases loaded.
Christina Jaques then hit a triple to bring in
Chelsea Randle,
Kayla Maldonado, and
Rebecca Rousseau.
Rian O'Bannon hit a single to chase home

The Blazers turned in 10 hits with Jaques, Austin, and Wright leading the Blazers with two hits apiece.
Sarah Burns pitched five innings allowing no runs and only one hit in the contest. Burns is now 9-2 on the season. Casey Prince got the only hit of the game for the Warriors. Patrice Suplicki started in the circle giving up ten hits and eight runs while receiving the loss.
In game two against the Warriors, the Blazers put up nine hits and nine runs. Indiana Tech. scored the first run of the contest in the second inning on a throwing error by second baseman
Rachel Wright allowing Jenn Anderson to score an unearned run. In the bottom of the 2nd the Blazers answered with four runs.
Kayla Maldonado singled to bring in CeeCee Austin for the first run and then
Chelsea Randle and
Rebecca Rousseau scored two unearned runs.
Katie Sanders then scored off a wild pitch giving the Blazers a 4-1 advantage.
In the fourth inning the Blazers scored four more times to put the game away. Jaques hit a double to bring in Maldonado for the first run in the frame. O'Bannon then hit a single to bring in
Christina Jaques followed by an
Annalee Carr homerun plating O'Bannon to make the score 8-1. The Blazers got their last run from a Jaques single that brought in
Jessica Paris wrapping up the contest 9-1.
Christina Jaques led the Blazers in hits with three while Carr and Jaques turned in two RBIs apiece.
Rebecca Rousseau started in the circle for the Blazers giving up one run and two hits boosting her record to 5-1. Anderson and Suplicki both got a hit for the Warriors as Tori Kelps gave up nine runs and nine hits.
The Blazers defeated Blue Mountain College in their final contest of the evening. Belhaven put up two runs in the bottom of the 1st.
Annalee Carr hit a homerun to cash in
Rian O'Bannon making the score 2-0. The Toppers then scored a run in the top of the 2nd as Hamilton singled to center brining in Noe for the run cutting the lead to one 2-1.
In the bottom of the 5th the Blazers turned in four runs.
Annalee Carr hit her second homerun of the day and her sixth of the season bringing in O'Bannon, Jaques, and Hess. Those runs were the last scored of the game leading to the final of 6-1.
The Blazers clocked eight hits with Carr and Jaques leading the way with two apiece.
Ashley Mottola got her first start of the season in the circle pitching all seven innings giving up one run off two hits. Mottola is undefeated in win and losses with a record of 1-0. Sagely and Hamilton led the Warriors with one hit a piece. Brook Denton pitched all seven innings surrendering eight hits and six runs as she suffered the loss in the circle.
Belhaven is now 16-3 on the season and will be back in action on the road Tuesday as they take on Louisiana State University-Alexandria in a doubleheader beginning at 3:00 PM.
