Blazers Set to Open SSAC Tournament against Emmanuel

Rome, GA-The Belhaven men's basketball team will begin their postseason on Thursday night as they take on Emmanuel College to open the Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament. The Blazers, who are the number three seed from the west division, meet up for the second time this season with second seed Emmanuel who got the better of Belhaven 69-68 back on November 20th in Franklin Springs, GA.

Belhaven (16-14) won their final game of the regular season defeating Spring Hill College 64-55. The Blazers are led by Rob Wallace who is averaging 19.6 points per game and ranks 9th in the NAIA in total scoring with 568 total points. Nathaniel Roche' is putting in 15.9 points per game and pulling down 9.6 rebounds per contest ranking him 10th in the NAIA in total rebounding. Roche' has a team best 12 double doubles on the season. The Blazers are averaging 74.1 points per game and giving up that exact same number to their opponents.

Emmanuel (23-7) is led by Tedrick Hudson who averages 17.4 points per game while knocking down 44.2 percent of his three point shots ranking him 8th in the NAIA. Hudson also paces Emmanuel on the glass with 5.6 rebounds per night. Hudson is closely followed Graham Maxwell who tosses in 11.7 points per game and drills 42.4 percent of his triples. The Lions are 11th in the nation in three point shooting at 37.1 percent on the season. Emmanuel is averaging 72.9 points per game this season and holding opponents to 66 points per outing.
