Mobile, Al- The Belhaven volleyball team was defeated by 19th ranked Spring Hill College on Tuesday night 3-0 in Southern States Athletic Conference action.  The Badgers took control of the contest early defeating the Blazers with final set scores of 25-9., 25-13, and 25-14. The loss snapped a four game win streak the Blazers had established at the Millsaps College Invitational this past weekend.

Belhaven (22-12, SSAC 5-8) wasn't able to muster up enough play to compete with the Badgers. The Blazers dropped the first set 25-9 and couldn't get on track falling in the next two sets 25-13 and 25-14. Christina Atwood tallied in the most kills on the night for the Blazers with eight while picking up two digs. Natalie Davis turned in five kills and one dig. Gabriella Zorzoli led the team in digs will eleven while Erin Bradley picked up 17 assists in the contest.

Spring Hill College (35-0, SSAC 13-0) was paced by Yiting Cao with thirteen kills and seven digs. Cao was followed by Sha Sha Buchanan with eleven kills and three digs.

Belhaven's next opponent will be Faulkner University as the Blazers travel to Montgomery, AL for their regular season finale. The SSAC contest is slated for 7:00 PM.
