Jackson, MS- The Belhaven Volleyball team was defeated by Millsaps College in a hard fought match Tuesday night at Millsaps College. The Blazers lost in four sets to the Majors with the final scores of 22-25, 22-25, 25-18, and 13-25. The Blazers have now fallen to 5-3 on the season while Millsaps improved to 6-0.

The Blazers were led on Tuesday by Christina Atwood with 13 kills followed by Taylor Williams with 12 kills and 14 digs. Gabriella Zorzoli followed Williams in digs with 12. Erinn Bradley issued 35 assists for the Blazers while Christina Jaques got the Blazers their only two aces of the night. In spite of the lost the Blazers as a team racked in a hitting percentage of 36.3.

The Blazers have had a tough schedule thus far competing in five matches in the last five days. The Blazers will try and get back on track as they get deeper into their season when they take on Union University on Friday September 10 at the Lee University Invitational in Cleveland, TN. The opening serve is slated for 5:45 PM.
