Jackson, MS- The Belhaven women's volleyball team lost to NCAA Division I Jackson State University Thursday night in Rugg Arena. The Blazers went down in three sets with the final scores of 13-25, 20-25, and 25-27. The loss brings the Blazers record on the season to an even 8-8 placing them right at the .500 mark.
The Blazers fought hard in the third set of the match tying the game on three different occasions yet came up short in the end.
Christina Jaques led the Blazers Thursday night with seven kills, 10 digs, and two aces.
Katherine Owen had one ace, two kills and 15 digs on the night.
Taylor Williams followed Owen in digs with eight while turning in five kills.
Erin Bradley rounded out the night for the Blazers with seven digs and a team high 15 assists. As a team, the Blazers managed to claim 14 block assists and 55 digs.
