Jackson, MS- The Belhaven Volleyball team rolled over the Tougaloo Bulldogs Tuesday night at Tougaloo College. The Blazers defeated the Bulldogs in three sets with final scores of 25-6, 25-1, and 25-9 in what the first match in program history for Tougaloo who is fielding a team for the first time this year. Belhaven controlled the match from start to finish as they go to 3-0 on the season while the Bulldogs drop to 0-1.
Christina Jaques led the Blazers in kills with nine while
Taylor Williams added six assists. The Blazers as a team racked up a total of 28 aces as Atwood and Williams led the way with nine apiece. Williams and
Siobhan Hardy added four digs apiece and Williams also contributed a team high seven assists. The team finished with a total attack percentage of 52.8 in Tuesday night's match.
The Blazers will be back in action this weekend in the Millsap's College Invitational Friday at 3:00 PM against Martin Methodist College (Tenn.) followed by a battle with Centenary College (Louisiana) at 7:00 PM. On Saturday, Belhaven will face Schreiner University at Noon and LeTourneau University at 2:00 PM.
