Lady Blazers Split a Pair of Matches on Day Two of Hendrix Fall Classic

Conway, AR-The Lady Blazer volleyball battled it out Saturday when they faced Williams Baptist College and Hendrix College in the Hendrix Fall Classic. Belhaven fell short to Williams Baptist in match one with final scores of 22-25, 21-25, 25-16, 25-18, and 6-15. In match two, The Lady Blazers overpowered
Hendrix College three games to one with final scores of 25-16, 25-14, 20-25, and 25-18.
 
In match one against Williams Baptist, the Lady Blazers (6-4) were led by Christina Jaques with 15 kills followed by Christian Atwood with 11 kills and Samantha O'Malley who had 10 kills. Freshman Erin Bradley led the team with 49 assists. Jessica Davis paced Belhaven with 21 digs followed by Christina Jaques who contributed 14, Taylor Williams had 13, and Jessica Akiona added 12. Christina Jacques led the Lady Blazers with two solo blocks. Jaques also led with three block assists followed by Christina Atwood and Erin Bradley who each supplied two solo blocks.
 
The Lady Blazers came out on fire in match two in opposition to Hendrix College. Christina Jaques led Belhaven with 15 kills and Samantha O'Malley had 10 kills. Setter Erin Bradley led with 41 assists and freshman Taylor Williams had 18 digs to lead the team. Jessica Davis and Jessica Akiona each contributed 13 digs in the match. Christina Jaques led with three solo blocks and Christina Atwood led with two block assists.
 
On the season, the Lady Blazers are led by Christina Jaques with 114 kills followed by Christina Atwood with 97 total kills. Setter Erin Bradley has 387 assists and is also tops on the team in digs with 131 followed by Taylor Williams with 114 digs. Christina Jaques leads with 13 solo blocks and 22 block assists.  
 
The Lady Blazers will be back in action Tuesday night as they head across town to take on the Lady Majors of Millsaps College in the Hangar Dome. Time is slated for 7.
