Jackson, MS-The Belhaven softball team will open up the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference tournament on Friday in Orange Beach Alabama against the University of Mobile beginning at 4 PM. The Lady Blazers are the third seed in the tournament with Mobile owning the tournaments second seed.
Belhaven and Spring Hill both finished the conference schedule with 4-8 records, but Belhaven owned the conference tie breaker giving them the third seed. Top seed William Carey will play Spring Hill at 6 PM on Friday night in the other opening round game. The winner of the GCAC tournament will advance to the NAIA unaffiliated tournament in West Virginia the following weekend to play for an automatic bid the NAIA National tournament in Decatur, AL.
