Jackson, MS-After two straight wins, The Belhaven College volleyball team was overpowered by the University of Mobile in three games 17-25, 19-25, and 20-25 on Thursday night in Rugg Arena. Belhaven falls to an overall record of 17-18 and 5-5 in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference. Belhaven fought hard the entire match, but the Rams proved to be too much for the Blazers.
Christina Jaques led the Blazers offense with eight kills followed by
Kourtney Clark with five.
Erin Bradley paced the Blazers with 15 assists while
Taylor Williams tallied two aces followed by Bradley,
Samantha O'Malley, and
Jessica Akiona who each contributed one ace.
The Blazers were led on defense by O'Malley with 10 digs followed by Bradley with eight digs.
Christina Atwood led with four blocking assists trailed by Williams with three blocking assists.
The Blazers will be back in action on November 13th and 14th, as they take part in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament hosted at the University of Mobile in Mobile, AL. The first serve is TBD.
