Blazer Volleyball Falls to Dillard in Three Sets

New Orleans, LA- The Belhaven College volleyball team's five game winning streak came to an end in a loss to the Bleu Devils of Dillard University in three sets 22-25, 17-15, and 15-25 on Saturday afternoon in Dent Hall. The Blazers put up a tough fight in game one, but were not able to keep up with Dillard in games two and three. Belhaven falls to an overall record 15-16 and 4-4 in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference. The Bleu Devils are now 8-7 overall and 4-3 in GCAC action.
 
The Blazers were led by sophomore Kourtney Clark with seven kills and freshman Taylor Williams with six kills on offense. Freshman setter Erin Bradley led with 25 assists.
 
Junior Christina Jaques and sophomore Jessica Davis paced the Blazers on defense with seven digs each.  Clark had with one solo block while sophomore Christina Atwood and Jaques chipped in with one blocking assist each. 
 
After Saturday's contest, Belhaven is ranked fourth out of six teams in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference.
 
The Belhaven volleyball team will have home court advantage Tuesday night as they collide with the Tigers of Jackson State University in Rugg Arena. The first serve is slated for 7:00 PM.
