Jackson, MS-The Belhaven College volleyball team exhibited great teamwork and discipline as they defeated the Wolfpack of Loyola University in five games 25-23, 14-25, 25-21, 16-25, and 18-16 on Tuesday night in Rugg Arena. The Blazers are now 14-15 overall and 3-3 in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference. Loyola falls to an overall record of 12-9 and 5-2 in the GCAC.

                               

On the offensive side of net, the Blazers were led by junior Christina Jaques with 19 kills followed by Christina Atwood with 11 kills. Freshmen setter Erin Bradley led with 41 assists. Kourtney Clark and Atwood each contributed two aces each.

 

On defensive, the Blazers were led by Bradley with 21 digs trailed by Taylor Williams with 18 digs, Jessica Davis with 13 digs and Erin Hampton with 10 digs. In solo blocks Atwood, Bradley, and Hampton each led with one. Jaques paced the Blazers with three blocking assists followed by Clark and Bradley who each added in two blocking assists.

 

In tonight's contest, Belhaven had total of 50 kills, 48 assists, five aces, 84 digs, three solo blocks, and eight blocking assists.
