Lorman, MS-The Belhaven volleyball team needed a win Monday night, and that's exactly what they got. The Lady Blazers defeated Alcorn State in three games 25-22, 25-23, and 25-17. The victory ended a nine match losing streak that began against Loyola University September 16th.

Kourtney Clark had an outstanding game with ten kills while Kelsey Stack once again led the team in assists with 19. Mary Jeanne Kenyon had 16 digs to go along with two solo blocks and an ace. Erinn Hampton and Jessica Davis also chipped in with an ace a piece.

The win improves Belhaven's record to 4-13 and they will be back in action this Friday at the University of Mobile. This will be the second Gulf Coast Athletic Conference game of the season for the Lady Blazers. The only other conference match of the year was against Loyola that resulted in a 3-1 setback. Friday's match is slated to get underway at 7:30 PM.
