One of this week's Cellular South Athletes of the Week is Sarah Burns of the Blazer softball team. Burns, a junior from Edmund, OK, posted a 1-0 victory over the University of Mobile in game one of a GCAC doubleheader and came into to earn a save in game two. In both games combined, Burns pitched eight innings did not allow a runs, surrendered just two hits, and struck out seven Mobile batters. The win improves her overall record to 15-2 and the save was her first in 2010. One the season, Burns has an ERA of 1.52 in 106.1 innings work with 129 strikeouts and was named GCAC Pitcher of the Week.
