JACKSON, Miss. - Belhaven Women’s Tennis Player AnneMarie Kimball has been named the C Spire Athlete of the Week after her performance last week in the blazers two matches.
Kimball was undefeated on the week, picking up a pair of singles victories in the No. 1 spot, while also teaming up for a pair of doubles victories, also in the No. 1 spot.
The freshman improved to 10-4 in singles competition on the year after winning 6-3, 7-5 against Middle Georgia’s Anastasiia Vasileva and 6-1, 6-3 over Dalton State’s Laura Winter.
In doubles action, the Shreveport, La. native teamed up with Stephanie Smith to win 8-3 over Middle Geogia and 8-4 over Dalton State.
Kimball and the rest of the Blazers Women’s Tennis team will return to action on March 20, with a doubleheader against Tougaloo College and Louisiana College at Parham Bridges. The first match will begin at 1 p.m.
