Doug Mumme of the Belhaven men's cross country team has been selected as this week's C Spire Athlete of the Week. Mummer was also named the Southern States Athletic Conference Runner of the Week for his performance in the Mississippi College Season Opener this past Friday.

Mumme, a freshman from Holcomb, Miss, had an impressive collegiate debut by turning in a team best fifth place finish. Mumme recorded a time of 17:00 minutes in the 5k run and helped lead the Blazers to a fourth place finish.
