BRANDON, Miss. - The Belhaven Golf team finished in 4th place on Tuesday at the Pinnacle Trust Invitational at Castlewoods Country Club in Brandon, Mississippi.
The Blazers completed the three-round, two day tournament with a +14, 303 final round. Belhaven finished the tournament with a +57, 921, but lowered its score after each round (311, 307, 303).
Andy Bartelt shot a team best -1, 71 in the final round, and finished first among Blazers with a 10th place finish at +9, 225.
Trey Render fell out of the top 10 with a +8, 80 final round. He finished in a tie for 11th with a +10, 226.
KJ Coakley finished with a +3, 75 final round and +19, 235 overall, earning him a tie for 19th place.
Wayne Stone finished 22nd, firing a +20, 236, while Zachary Warden ended the tournament at +30, 246, tied for 28th.
Oscar Andersen and
Ander Haick completed the tournament as individuals with a 261 and 270 score, respectively.
"Each round we are improving," said head coach
Dan Lickness. "We got better during each round of the tournament and we will look to continue this as the season progresses."
The Blazers will move forward to the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Mid East Regional Tournament. The Blazers will compete at the Rarity Bay Golf & Country Club in Vonore, Tennessee outside of Knoxville. The two-day tournament begins on Tuesday, October 5.
