MONTGOMERY, Ala.-The Belhaven Department of Athletics took home the Musco Lighting Women's Team Sportsmanship award while baseball player

Rachel Earnheart were Belhaven's Southern States Athletic Conference Honor Athletes.
The sportsmanship award is based on the five core characteristics of the NAIA's Champions of Character program which are respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership and sportsmanship. The Blazers exemplified the traits both on and off the field during the season en route to this honor. Each institution earns points throughout the year and standings are kept towards this annual institutional award.
Earnheart, a senior from Tunica, MS, and Husband, a senior from Tunica, MS, were the institutions' SSAC Honor Student Athletes for their work on and off the field this past season. Earnheart and Husband were both selected based on quality GPA, community service, on the field excellence, tenure at the institution, and must display the virtues of the Champions of Character program.
Belhaven University is a member of the NAIA, Southern States Athletic Conference and Mid-South Conference and sponsors 13 intercollegiate sports. Belhaven is an institution that focuses on preparing students academically and spiritually to serve Christ Jesus.
