Arnold Named NAIA Honorable Mention All-American

KANSAS CITY, Mo.-Daryl Arnold of the Belhaven men's basketball team was selected as a 2011-12 NAIA Honorable Mention All-American when the All-American teams were announced by the national office on Wednesday. The selections were made by the NAIA Men's Basketball Coaches' Association All-America Committee and comprises a First, Second, Third and Honorable Mention Team. There are 10 members on each of the first three All-America teams.

Arnold, a 6'6 senior forward from Jackson, MS, led Belhaven in scoring this season averaging 14.7 points per game. Arnold was second on the team in field goal percentage, knocking down 49.3 percent of his shots from the floor. On defense, Arnold led the team in blocked shots (23) and steals (81). Arnold was 16th in the NAI A in steals per game (2.5) and 18th in total steals. Over the course of his two year career at Belhaven, Arnold averaged 13.3 points per game and drilled over 50 percent of his field goals.

Belhaven ended its season last week in the opening round of the 2012 Buffalo Funds NAIA National Championships in Kansas City, Mo, losing to second ranked Oklahoma Baptist 68-62.
