Jackson, MS-Head Coach
Hill Denson and the Belhaven baseball program would like to announce the signing of first baseman Will Henry for the 2012 season.
Henry, a native of Madison, MS, transfers to Belhaven after spending two seasons at Holmes Community College. As a freshman at Holmes CC in 2010, Henry posted a .383 batting average with four home runs and nine doubles. His batting average was a team best and home run total put him second on the team in that category. Henry's sophomore season (2011) was cut short due to injury.
Prior to arriving at Holmes CC, Henry prepped at Madison Ridgeland Academy. As a senior in 2009, Henry was named as a First Team All-MPSA, All-Conference, and All-Madison County member. He was also selected to the Clarion Ledger All-Metro 2nd Team. “Will is going to be a good addition to our club,” says Denson. “He will add some depth at first base, and will be a candidate for the DH spot. If nothing else, he will be great to have off of the bench as a pinch hitter. I think that is one thing we have lacked the past couple of years, is quality hitters that can give us big pinch hits off of the bench.”
Belhaven University is a member of the NAIA, Southern States Athletic Conference and Mid-South Conference and sponsors 13 intercollegiate sports. Belhaven is an institution that focuses on preparing students academically and spiritually to serve Christ Jesus.
