Jackson, MS-Head Coach
Hill Denson and the Belhaven baseball program would like to announce the signing of right handed pitcher Tim Leather for the 2012 season.
Leather, a native of Hagarstown, MD, transfers to Belhaven after spending two seasons at Frederick Community College. Leather posted some impressive numbers in 2011 at FCC boasting a record of 5-1 with an ERA of 1.09. Leather struck out 21 opposing hitters in 41 innings pitched, walked only four batters, and surrendered just five earned runs all season. He was also named 2nd Team All-Conference and 2nd Team All-Region for his efforts this past season. Leather helped lead Frederick Community College to a 43-7 record and a ranking of 12th in NJCAA Division II.
“We are excited to add Tim to our pitching staff,” says Denson. “He has the ability to give us some quality innings this year. He throws a lot of strikes and knows how to get outs. He had an outstanding year at FCC last year and hopefully he will come in and be a major contributor out of the bullpen for us.”
