Jackson, MS-Head Coach
Levi Patton and the Belhaven tennis program are pleased to announce the signing of eight new players for the 2011 season.
The men's team is adding three new players. Jim Scott of Pelham, AL,
Nicolas Osorio of Colombia South America and Guillermo Chaves of Colombia South America. The women's program is adding LaToya Williams of Terry, MS, Elizabeth Chrestman of Pontotoc, MS, Haleigh Robbins of Tyler, TX, Amber Robinson of Mize, MS and Mary Carole Kiewit of Laurel, MS.
"These players complete the puzzle that I have been working on over the past 2 years," says Coach Patton. "Every one of these players are strong competitors and this will be the largest tennis program that Belhaven has seen in its 45+ years as a varsity sport. There will not be a dropoff between the one spot and the six spot in the lineup. I am very pleased with what the future holds for the Belhaven tennis teams. The future is very bright."
Belhaven University is a member of the NAIA, Southern States Athletic Conference, and Mid-South Conference and sponsors 13 intercollegiate sports. Belhaven is an institution that focuses on preparing students academically and spiritually to serve Christ Jesus.
