Kansas City, MO-The Belhaven softball team dropped to 5th in the Final 2010 NAIA Softball Coaches' Top 25 Poll when it was announced by the NAIA on Tuesday afternoon.

The Blazers own an overall record of 50-8 following the conclusion of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament this past Friday. Last week Belhaven went 2-2 in the GCAC Tournament with a 4-0 win over Spring Hill College and a 2-1 victory against William Carey University. The Blazers two losses were to William Carey including a 2-0 defeat in the GCAC Tournament Championship. Conference rivals William Carey University and the University of Mobile are ranked 13th and 18th respectively.

Belhaven is awaiting word on a potential at large bid to the NAIA National Tournament in Decatur, AL May 20th through the 26th. The field for the national tournament will be announced May 10th with the announcement of seeding and the pool play schedule to follow May 11th.
