Hattiesburg, MS-Wade Broyles of the Belhaven baseball team was selected as the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for the week ending May 2nd.

Broyles, a senior from Madison MS and transfer from Ole Miss, racked up 13 more strikeouts this week with 10 of them coming in four innings of work against Loyola over the weekend. He also earned his 11th save of the season in Belhaven's regular season finale on Saturday at Loyola. Broyles now has a team high 61 strikeouts in 32. 1 innings pitched this year and has compiled a record of 3-0 with a 1.39 ERA.

Belhaven kicks off the GCAC tournament by playing the winner of Wednesday's play-in game between Loyola and Tougaloo on Thursday night at 6:00 PM. The Blazers are the number one seed in this year's tournament on the strength of winning the regular season conference championship.
