Kansas City, MO-The Belhaven baseball team was tabbed as the 8th seed for the 2010 Avista NAIA World Series when it was announced by the NAIA on Friday night. The series will be played in Lewiston, ID May28th through June 4th and is hosted by Lewis-Clark State College. The Blazers will open the series against the number nine seed Point Loma Nazarene University on Friday at Noon (PDT). The winner will take on top seeded Lewis-Clark State College on Saturday night at 7:00 PM (PDT.
Belhaven who was ranked 14th in the final NAIA Top 25 Poll and is 43-15 on the season made the 10 team field after defeating Texas Wesleyan University 4-3 in the 2010 NAIA Baseball National Championship Opening Round Group 9 tournament Thursday night. The Blazers are making their first ever NAIA World Series appearance while Point Loma Nazarene University will be making their fifth overall trip to the series. The Sea Lions are 38-18 and are the Opening Round Group 6 Champions.
