Hattiesburg, MS-For the sixth time this season, Sarah Burns of the Belhaven softball team has been chosen as the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for her efforts during the week ending April 25th.

Burns, a junior from Edmund, OK, posted three more victories against 23rd ranked University of Mobile, Spring Hill College, and Freed-Hardeman University. Burns ERA for the week was 1.47 as she tossed 19 innings with 20 strikeouts. On the season, Burns is 24-3 with two saves and has an ERA of 1.67. She now has 15 complete games and 190 strikeouts in 166.2 innings of work.

Belhaven will be back in action on Thursday when they open up the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament in Gulf Shores, AL. The Blazers will play the winner of the Dillard/Spring Hill game starting at 5:00 PM. Belhaven owns an overall record of 48-6 and claimed the GCAC Regular Season Title with 13-3 mark in conference play.
