Hattiesburg, MS-Sarah Burns of the Belhaven softball team has been selected as the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for her efforts during the week ending April 18th.

Burns, a junior from Edmund, OK, posted six victories against Spring Hill College, St. 21st ranked Xavier University, Robert Morris College, 25th ranked Columbia College (MO) and 24th ranked Olivet Nazarene University. Burns posted an ERA for the week of 0.58 and struck out 34 batters in 36.1 innings. On the season, Burns is 21-3 and has an ERA of 1.65. She has 13 complete games and 170 strikeouts in 147.2 innings.

Belhaven will be back in action on Tuesday afternoon when they travel to the University of Mobile for a GCAC doubleheader starting at 3:00 PM. The Blazers have an overall record of 43-5 and 10-2 in the GCAC.
