Kansas City, MO-The Belhaven men's basketball team moved up one spot to 19th in the latest 2009-2010 NAIA Division I Men's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll when it was released by the NAIA on Monday afternoon.
Belhaven went 1-1 last week and included an 82-73 win over Dillard University Saturday night that snapped a three game losing streak. The Blazers loss came on the road at LSU-Shreveport last Thursday. The Pilots went to number four in this week's poll on the strength of a 21-2 overall record and lead the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference with a 10-1 mark. Belhaven is now 18-5 overall and is tied for second in the GCAC with William Carey at 8-3. Tougaloo dropped from 18th to 25th in this week's poll.
Belhaven will be back in action Monday night when they travel to William Carey to battle the Crusaders beginning at 7:30 PM. The Blazers will then return home to face Xavier University (LA) on Thursday at 7:30 and host Southern University at New Orleans on Saturday night at 7:00 PM.
