Hattiesburg, MS-Belhaven men's soccer player Zach Wallace was selected as the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts last week against NCAA II Delta State University and Martin Methodist College.

 

Wallace, a goalkeeper from Nederland, TX, helped guide the Blazers to a 1-0 shutout win over the Statesmen and an a 2-1 overtime victory versus the 18^th ranked Redhawks. Wallace had six saves against Delta State including one in the final minute to help preserve the win. He had two saves in Saturday's win over Martin Methodist. Wallace is now 5-2 in net on the season including two shutouts and has 24 saves on the year.
