Jackson, MS-The Belhaven Athletics department is pleased to announce Brittany Godsey as the new Assistant Women's Basketball Coach and Compliance Coordinator. Godsey, a native of Rogersville, Alabama, played four years at Lauderdale County High School and helped guide her team to two State Championships. Godsey went on to play four seasons at NCAA Division II University of North Alabama where she was a standout point guard for the Lady Lions. She earned a Bachelor's of Arts degree in English from UNA in 2008.
Godsey then moved on to the University of Southern Mississippi as a graduate assistant coach for the women's basketball program and just completed her Master's of Sport Management Degree. While at Southern Mississippi, Godsey worked with the Golden Eagle guards, helped with the marketing of the program, and provided support with on-campus recruiting.
“I am so excited for the opportunity to work for Belhaven College and Coach Evans,” says Godsey. “There are a lot of great things going on at Belhaven and I am blessed to be here.”
The Lady Blazers had a solid 2008-09 season with a 17-14 record and will open the 2009-10 campaign October 31
st at Wesley College. Belhaven College is a member of the NAIA, Gulf Coast Athletic Conference, and Mid-South Conference and sponsors 13 intercollegiate sports.
