Kansas City, MO-The Belhaven men's soccer team received votes in the 2009 NAIA Top 25 Preseason Coaches' Poll when the poll was recently announced by the NAIA. The Blazers were ranked just behind Bethel College (Ind.) with a total of 55 votes.
Bethel College in Tennessee is the preseason number one with 588 points and 19 total first place votes. The University of Rio Grande, Oklahoma City University, Mount Vernon Nazarene University, and Concordia University (Calif.) round out the top 5.
The Blazers finished the 2008 season with an impressive 14-4-1 overall record and were ranked as high as sixth in the NAIA Top 25 Poll last year. It was one of the best seasons in school history over the past ten years. Belhaven opens the regular season at Bethel College (Tenn.) on September 4th at 4:00 PM.
