Jackson, MS-Head Coach
Hill Denson and the Belhaven baseball program would like to announce the signing of Franklin Keyes for the 2010 season.
Keyes, a native of Ridgeland, MS, comes to Belhaven as a freshman after having played his high school career at Jackson Academy under the tutelage of Head Coach and former Major League Pitcher Jay Powell. Keyes, an infielder/pitcher, compiled a .361 batting average with four home runs, eight doubles, and was ten for ten in the stolen base department this past season. On the mound, he had a 6-3 record with a 2.89 ERA in 2009. Keyes was the Jackson Academy Baseball MVP, was selected to play in the Mississippi Private School All-Star Game, and was a First Team All-Conference Member during his senior year.
“We are very excited to have Franklin join our club. He is a good athlete that comes from a good baseball program,” says Coach Denson. “It is always good to get local players of his caliber. Franklin is a smart player and a tough kid. Hopefully he will continue to improve his skills and succeed in our program.”
Belhaven College is a member of the NAIA, Gulf Coast Athletic Conference, and Mid-South Conference and sponsors 13 intercollegiate sports.
