Kansas City, MO-The Belhaven men's soccer team moved up two spots from 24th to number 22 in the latest 2009 NAIA Men's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll when the new rankings were released by the NAIA Tuesday afternoon. The Blazers cracked the top 25 for the first time on September 29th when they checked in at the number 19 slot in the country.
Belhaven is currently 10-3-2 and wrapped up the regular season on October 23rd at home against Harding University with a 5-2 victory. The Blazers finished the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference schedule with a record of 3-1, a half game behind William Carey who is 3-0 in league play with one conference game to play. However, the Crusaders topped Belhaven 1-0 earlier in the season and would hold the tie breaker for seeding in the GCAC tournament is the two teams tied. The Blazers will open up GCAC tournament play on Friday November 6th with the time and opponent yet to be determined.
