Hattiesburg, MS-Senior forward Jira Williams of the Belhaven women's basketball team was selected to the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Pre-Season All Conference team when the announcement was recently made by the GCAC.

Williams, a native of New Orleans, LA, was a GCAC All Conference pick in 2008-09 after averaging 13.8 points and just under six rebounds per game last season. Williams played in all 31 of Belhaven's contests a year ago.

The Blazers will open the 2009-10 campaign on Saturday when they travel to Wesley College for a non-conference matchup with the Warriors. The tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM. The official GCAC press release can be viewed by clicking here.
