Jackson, MS-Wednesday afternoon at Smith Wills Stadium, Belhaven Baseball began its annual Steak and Burgers Series with the white team winning game one 6-5.
Senior, RHP,
Brandt Hinton took the hill for Belhaven white and earned the win. Hinton threw 5 innings, striking out 5 and allowing only 1 walk. He allowed 5 runs ( 4 earned) while scattering 8 hits.
Paul Hoffman came in relief of Hinton in the 6th to earn a 2 inning save. Hoffman gave up no runs, no hits, while striking out two in his 2 innings of work.
Chris Bennett took the loss for Belhaven Green. Bennett gave up 6 runs on 5 hits in 2 2/3 innings. He struck out 5 and walked 5. Senior LHP,
Sean Steverson, pitched 3 innings of scoreless ball, allowing only one hit.
Belhaven White was lead at the plate by John Michael Williamson's 2 doubles and 3 RBI. Junior catcher Alex Riser had a 2 RBI Single which proved to be the winning runs. Freshman outfielder, Taylor Bonifacio had a triple in the game.
Daniel O'Brien also had a hit.
Freshman infielder, Brett Moss had a double and a single for Belhaven Green. Outfielders, Jimmy Gilford and Drew Dillard both had two hits in the game.

Game two of the Steak and Burgers Series will be Thursday, 3:00 at Smith Wills Stadium. Admission is free.
