Blazers Ink Mandell for Spring 2009

Jackson, MS-The Belhaven men's tennis team has signed a key recruit for the 2009 campaign. Henry Mandell has decided to further his career and education at Belhaven College. Mandell is a native of Chicago Ilinois and has a tremendous amount of playing experience that he brings to the Blazers. 

During his high school career, Mandell play number one singles on the freshman and sophomore teams. Mandell moved on to the varsity  team his junior year and played number two doubles and complied a record of 10-3. As a senior, Mandell played number one singles and advanced to the quarterfinals in the state tournament. 

Following high school, Mandell played one season at James Madison University where he was the number five player out of ten players on the roster. After taking some time off he returns to the tennis court with the Blazers. "At 20 years old and with more experience than ever, I am ready to be a part of the Belhaven Community and be a major asset on the Belhaven tennis team", says Mandell. Head Coach Levi Patton states that "Mandell wil be key to the future of the Belhaven tennis program."
