Hattiesburg, MS-In a battle for sole possession of second place in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference, the Belhaven men’s basketball team fell to William Carey University 98-88 on Monday night in Hattiesburg. The game was dominated by both offenses as each team drilled over 50 percent of their shots from the field. Rob Wallace and Nathaniel Roche’ had 21 points and 19 points respectively for the Blazers, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to overcome William Carey.

The loss drops the Blazers record to 13-10 overall and 4-8 in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference. The Crusaders go to 13-9 overall and 9-3 in the GCAC.

Jackson, MS-The Belhaven men’s basketball team earned a much needed 82-73 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference victory over Dillard University on Saturday night in Rugg Arena. The Blazers had lost their last three games coming into the game and were reeling a bit after jumping out to a 7-0 start in the conference. Belhaven got a big lift from Tensley Cowan who poured in a season high 24 points and 14 rebounds for his second double double of the year.
