Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach

Belhaven University

Belhaven University, a Christ-centered university located in Jackson, MS, is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach. The Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Women’s Soccer Coach in the management and administration of all phases of a varsity intercollegiate women’s soccer program, within the guidelines, rules, and regulations of Belhaven University, the NCAA, and the CCS. Belhaven University is an NCAA Division III institution sponsoring seventeen sports programs and holding conference membership in the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS).

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach will assist the head coach with the following: Support the mission and core values of the Department, which are competing for championships and leading athletes to mature as men and women created in the image of God; plan, organize, and deliver high-quality training sessions aligned with the program’s playing philosophy; assist in match preparation, including scouting reports and tactical planning; provide individual and small-group development sessions; support game-day coaching responsibilities and in-game management; coordinate recruiting efforts to attract individuals who have exhibited high potential to perform according to the standards of Belhaven Women’s Soccer, the department, the conference, and NCAA; identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes; build and maintain relationships with club coaches, high school coaches, and recruiting networks; manage recruiting databases and communication with prospects; coordinate campus visits and assist with the admissions process; plan, promote, and lead ID camps and other soccer-related events; serve as a representative of the program within the local and regional soccer community; assist in increasing program visibility and attracting prospective student-athletes; utilize VEO to film, analyze, and break down training sessions and matches; provide video feedback to players to enhance performance and tactical understanding; assist in managing and growing the program’s social media presence; create engaging graphics and content using Canva; promote team achievements, recruiting content, and program culture; comply with university, departmental, NCAA, and CCS regulations as it pertains to recruiting, training, and developing student-athletes; and other duties as assigned by supervisor.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Possess a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution (Master’s Preferred); possess previous playing and/or coaching experience at the collegiate or high-level club level or the equivalent; show the ability to recruit, develop, and retain quality student-athletes; demonstrate excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, intentional relationship building, and communication skills; demonstrate proficiency in social media platforms and content creation; have familiarity with Canva and VEO (or similar platforms); and possess the ability and willingness to work effectively in a team atmosphere within the Women’s Soccer program and the athletic department.
