JACKSON, Miss.-Belhaven University is pleased to announce that Jordan Lay has been hired as the new Head Coach of the Blazers Volleyball Program. Lay spent the 2011 season as Belhaven’s assistant coach and helped guide the team to a 23-13 record. The 23 victories were third most in a single season in school history.

“Jordan was an important part of our Volleyball staff during the turnaround season of 2011, and his energy and volleyball background will serve him well as he leads our team forward in the very-competitive SSAC,” said Belhaven Director of Athletics Scott Little.  “We're also excited about his volleyball network in areas such as the Midwest, and the resource that will be for successful recruiting.”

Lay, a native of Indianapolis, IN, earned his Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from Butler University in May 2011. While at Butler, Lay was the Head Coach for the Women's Volleyball Club team for two seasons and was Team Indiana's 15-2's assistant coach for one year. Lay was a three year starter and letter winner on the Southport High School men's volleyball team.

“I'm excited to build on the success we had last season and I’m grateful for the opportunity to lead the program forward,” said Lay. “I pride myself in my passion for winning and always studying the game. I'm looking forward to this season and working with the talented group of players we have on the team.”
