Lauren Brooks enters her fourth season on the Belhaven Women's Basketball staff as an Assistant Coach after joining Head Coach Steve Calder ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.
In Brooks' three seasons with the staff, the Blazers have seen increased success culminating in three straight CCS Tournament Championship appearances. In 2025-26, Brooks helped the Blazers to the most wins in a single season in the last 15 seasons, dating back to 2010-11. The Blazers went 19-7 had the second-highest scoring average in program history (76.7 points per game) and tied for the highest field goal defense in program history (34.6%). For the second consecutive season, the Blazers defeated each CCS Conference opponent at least once.
The 2024-25 season was a particularly strong one for Belhaven as they finished third in the CCS Regular Season standings and were one of just three teams to beat every team in the conference at least once.
A Jackson native, Brooks is a Belhaven University alum and former player for the Blazers' program having played two seasons from 2017-19. While at Belhaven, Brooks made 42 starts and 49 appearances, averaging 9.6 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.
Following the 2018-19 campaign, Brooks was named an All-American Southwest Conference Second Team player after averaging a career-high 11.7 points per contest.
Prior to her Belhaven career, Brooks spent two seasons at Holmes Community College in Goodman, Mississippi. She is a graduate of Murrah High School.
