Caleb Snyder

Caleb Snyder is in his fourth season as the Head Coach of the Blazers track and field program. Snyder developed the inaugural team in 2013-14 that competed in the Outdoor Track and Field season and saw two athletes got to the National Championships.

Snyder's teams competed in both the Indoor and Outdoor seasons in 2014-15 and the Blazers had five individuals make the two National Championship seasons. Snyder coached two athletes to the Indoor Championships in Geneva, Ohio and had three individuals qualify for the Outdoor National Championships.

In its first year of NCCAA competition, Snyder's team had a record year of individualists make the Indoor and Outdoor National Championships in 2015-16. The Blazers had nine indoor and 12 outdoor individuals compete in the Championships.

Under Snyder's direction, the Blazers have three NCCAA All-Americans. While competing in the Southern States Athletic Conference, the Blazers have won seven championships. Belhaven also has five record holders, and 34 All-Conference finishers.

Snyder came to Belhaven from Brewton-Parker College where he served as the Head Coach for track and field and cross country programs during the 2012-13 season. Snyder is no stranger to building a program from the ground up; leading the Barons first ever track and field teams.

Prior to Brewton-Parker, Snyder was at Montreat College in North Carolina where he was an assistant track and field coach before being named as the school’s head coach.

Snyder was born in Zaire, Africa and was raised in a missionary family before they relocated to Winnebago, Illinois in 1996.

A graduate of Winnebago High School in 2005, Snyder moved on to Ashford University in Clinton, Iowa. Snyder was a member of the Ashford track and field team and graduated in 2010 with a degree in Sports and Recreation Management.

In 2016, Snyder was named to the Ashford University Hall of Fame with his performance in the long jump and as a sprinter at his alma mater, as well as his overall contributions he made at Ashford.

"I am grateful and blessed to have this opportunity to be a part of the Belhaven University athletics staff. I see a lot of potential to build a strong Track & Field program, and my goal is to be competitive at the national level while also giving the honor and glory to God. The most important part of developing a new program is to start with a strong foundation of hard working, Christ-centered athletes, who understand their role in the classroom so this first recruiting class will be extremely important. I'm excited to see what God had planned for this program and this University."

Caleb is married to Lauren and the couple have a son, Micah.
