Dominique Corona is in her second season as a graduate assistant coach for the Belhaven Softball program.
The Riverside, Calif. native spent three seasons with the Green and Gold as an outfielder, posting a career .369 batting average, with 32 doubles, nine home runs and 77 RBI.
A two-time Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Gold Glove winner, Corona committed one error in 150 games played for a .995 fielding percentage. She totaled 190 putouts and tallied nine assists.
Her junior year in 2014 posted superior marks that tabbed her as the SSAC Player of the Year. Corona hit .482 (66-for 137) with five home runs, 39 RBI, and obtained a slugging percentage of .730. She was named SSAC All-Conference her junior and senior years.
Nationally, the Belhaven alumus earned NAIA All-American First Team Honors in her junior year, and was also named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-East Region First Team her junior and senior campaigns.
Prior to her time with the Green and Gold, Corona spent her freshman campaign at Hinds Community College, where she led the team in hitting (.415), hits (54), doubles (19), RBI (34) and runs scored (25). Thanks to her efforts at the plate, she was named to the National Junior College Athletic Association's (NJCAA) All-Region XXIII Team.
Before Corona arrived in Mississippi, she graduated from Martin Luther King High School in Riverside, Calif., where she lettered two seasons as an outfielder.
Corona graduated from Belhaven with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Administration. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Leadership.
