Daniel Prado is entering his fifth season as Head Coach of Belhaven's Men's and Women's Tennis programs and sixth season on the coaching staff overall.
Prado led the Blazers women's team to a 14-6 record in his first season as a head coach, while the men's team finished with a 12-8 mark. Both teams made an an appearance in the 2017 NCCAA Mideast Regionals.
The Belhaven graduate was an assistant coach with the Blazers during the 2016 season and helped lead both the men's and women's teams to an NCCAA National Championship appearance, including a semifinal finish for the women's program.
In four seasons as a student-athlete with the Green and Gold Tennis program, the Morelia, Mexico native recorded a 38-13 singles record and a 43-19 doubles record. He was also a three-time All-Conference selection with the Southern States Athletic Conference, and he was named as an NAIA All-American his senior season in 2015.
Prado also lettered with the Blazers Men's Soccer team. During his senior season, the goalkeeper went 5-3 with one shutout, logging over 905 minutes and allowed 1.59 goals against while saving 51 shots.
Prado has two siblings, Gabriel and Mayra, who also graduated from Belhaven University and were key contributors as members of their respective tennis teams.
