Belhaven University Athletics

Cillian Thompson is in his second year as a graduate assistant for the Belhaven men’s soccer program.

Thompson played his collegiate soccer at Belhaven from 2012 through 2015. In his tenure with the Green and Gold, he was named NSCAA-NCCAA All-American, NCCAA Mideast All-Region, NSCAA player of the week, and was also chosen to the NCCAA All-Tournament team. The Dunboyne, Ireland native tallied 21 goals and six assists in his Belhaven career.

Additionally, Thompson was a member of the Blazers’ 2012 NAIA National Champion team, which produced a 19-4-1 overall record.

Along with serving as an assistant at Belhaven, Thompson is a head coach at the Jackson Futbol Club, and also a head coach for the Mississippi Rush U/11 and U/16 girls’ teams.

Thompson has also done a wide variety of volunteer work with the Top Soccer program, In His Steps, and the Yazoo Federal prison.

He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Business Administration.
