Tyler Freeman enters his 7th season as the Head Men's Golf Coach, as well as Director of Gameday Operations, for Belhaven Athletics.
In his tenure at Belhaven, Freeman has led the Men’s Golf Program through transitions from NCCAA to NCAA Division as well as the program's transition from the American Southwest Conference (ASC) to the newly formed Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS).
Freeman has coached seven different players to post 22 rounds at par or better with notable finishes by Dalton McKinney (2nd, 2019 UMHB Intercollegiate), Payton Tuttle (2nd, 2021 Texas Cup), Luke Couch (9th, 2022 ASC Championship). During his time with the Blazers, top team finishes include 3rd (2018 Louisiana College Fall Invitational) and 6th (2022 Maryville College Invitational).
A former student-athlete and graduate of Martin Methodist College (B.S., Mathematics), Freeman came to Belhaven from NCAA Division II Shorter University (MBA), where he served as the Men's and Women's Golf Graduate Assistant.
A native of Manchester, Tennessee, Freeman's experience includes collegiate recruiting, coaching, player development and tournament management, as well as golf course club operations and individual golf instruction. In addition, he has also served as a high school mathematics instructor.
Coach Freeman and his wife, Keri, reside in Ridgeland, Mississippi with their son Carson and their dog, Lola.
