Joseph Dendy has been named the new Head Men's Golf Coach at Belhaven University as announced by Vice President and Director of Athletics Scott Little on Friday. In addition to his role at the helm of the Blazers' golf program, Dendy will also serve as the departments Director of Game Day Operations.
Dendy joins the Blazers' staff from Hinds Community College where he has served as a Volunteer Assistant Coach for the Eagles' golf team as well as an Assistant Golf Professional for the school's golf course facility since September of 2024. Dendy helped the Hinds program to a trio of top six finishes across the 2024-25 campaign.
"I am happy to welcome Joseph to Belhaven as our new Head Men's Golf Coach and Director of Game Day Operations", said Director of Athletics Scott Little. "His background and experience will serve us well in leading our young men and giving administrative direction to event hosting across our eighteen sports programs."
Prior to his time at Hinds, Dendy was an instructor at Clear Creek Golf Club in Bovina, Mississippi where he served as a swing coach for eight collegiate golfers and two playing professionals. He also spent time at Bay Pointe Golf Club in Brandon where he assisted with the club's junior camps.
A graduate of Mississippi State University, Dendy played collegiately at Copiah Lincoln Community College where he was a NJCAA Division II All-America Honorable Mention in 2017. While at Co-Lin, Dendy was also named as a NJCAA Division II PING All-Region team selection and earned a nomination to the Arnold Palmer Cup.Â
Dendy earned status on the PGA Tour Canada in 2023 and achieved a Top 30 finish in the Canadian Tour Q School at RTJ Highland Oaks. He earned a top 10 finish in 2021 at the Paragon Casino Championship while on the All-Pro Tour and recorded a third place finish in the 2024 Gulf States Open.
A native of Brandon, Mississippi, Dendy holds an Associate Degree in Mathematics from Copiah-Lincoln Community College as well as a Bachelor of Engineering with a focus in Biological Engineering from Mississippi State.
