Catherine Taylor

Catherine Taylor is in her third year as the Director of Sports Medicine for Belhaven Athletics having been appointed to the position by Director of Athletics Scott Little ahead of the 2023-24 academic year.

Taylor oversees the Belhaven Sports Medicine and Athletic Training department and staff which provides service to the Blazers' 17 NCAA Division III teams. The Belhaven Athletic Training Staff are healthcare professionals who provide quality, comprehensive healthcare for student-athletes at Belhaven University. Athletic Trainers render service or treatment under the direction of or in collaboration with a physician in accordance with their education and training and the state's statutes, rules, and regulations.

As a part of the health care team, services provided by athletic trainers include primary care, injury and illness prevention, wellness promotion and education, emergent care, examination and clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention, and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. Belhaven Athletic Training works closely with Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Clinic as well as a number of other local specialists to ensure the highest level of care for our student-athletes.

Prior to joining Belhaven, Taylor worked as a Certified Athletic Trainer for OrthoSouth, an orthopedic clinic based in Tennessee. 

Taylor graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Athletic Training in 2017. Prior to her time at Southern Miss, Taylor attended Northwest Mississippi Community College where she received an Associate of Arts degree in Exercise Science.Â
