Les George enters his third season as the offensive line coach for the Belhaven football program. George, a native of Escatawpa, MS, played for East Central High School and went on to play two seasons at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College where he started as an offensive lineman. After finishing his Junior College career, George played at Bacone College under Blazers Head Coach Joe Thrasher. George graduated from Bacone with a degree in Sports Management.
“I am thrilled to be at Belhaven as a coach and I’m excited about the upcoming 2013 season,” says George. “I look forward to working with the entire coaching staff as we lead the Blazer football program forward.” “I believe in what Coach Thrasher is building here and anticipate great success.”
George’s offensive line helped pave the way to some impressive rushing numbers in 2012. The offense eclipsed previous school marks for most rushing touchdowns in a game with 385 against Bluefield and 335 against Bethel. George also coached Offensive Lineman Matt Hall who is one of the top rated lineman throughout all levels of college football heading into the 2013 season.
Les is married to his wife Chelsey and has a three year old daughter Lucy.
