Belhaven University Athletics

Belhaven Running Backs Coach, Khalil Pope, is entering his second season with the Blazers coaching staff. 

A native of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Pope played four years at Hattiesburg High School, earning four letters with the Tigers. Pope continued his playing career at Faulkner University as a place kicker/punter for the Eagles who competed in the Mid-South Conference of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).

Following his playing career, Pope spent the 2019 season as the Offensive Quality Control Coach for the University of Southern Mississippi. Pope then joined the coaching staff at East Central Community College (MS) as the Running Backs Coach and Specialists Coach for the 2020 season. 

Pope graduated from Faulkner University with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Psychology. 

Pope is the son of Kesia Pope and Ric Bailey.
