Craig Bowman

After taking a year away from football, Craig Bowman returned to Belhaven in 2012 and now enters his fourth year with the Blazer football program. It’s his second year serving as offensive coordinator. He will also serve as the Quarterbacks coach.

“I am excited to be back at Belhaven,” said Bowman. “The young men that have come to Belhaven have committed to excelling both in the classroom and on the field of play. The coaches here recruit very well, and I am really looking forward to working with the level of talent we have here. The offensive coaching staff is very knowledgeable and is very passionate about competing at a high level. I look forward to seeing these young men grow athletically, academically, and spiritually.”

Bowman’s offense ranked 10th in the NAIA in rushing yards per game last season with an average of 226.2. The Blazers averaged just under 33 points per game and set school records for most points in a game with 70 against Campbellsville and 66 against Bluefield. Those two totals led the a school best 362 points last season. In addition, the offense eclipsed previous school marks for most rushing touchdowns in a game with 385 against Bluefield and 335 against Bethel.

Coach Bowman and his wife, Claire, have been married for five years. They have two sons Benjamin and Samuel and reside in Flowood, MS. Coach Bowman is a graduate of Millsaps College where he played football and completed his BA in Elementary.
