Patrick Robey

Patrick Robey enters his second season at the helm of the Blazers' Baseball program after being named Head Coach by Director of Athletics Scott Little in the summer of 2025.

In his first season as the Blazers' skipper, Robey helped lead Belhaven to a second straight NCAA Tournament appearance as the Blazers' secured an at-large bid with a top 25 NPI ranking. The Blazers finished the year 31-15 overall and as runners-up in both the CCS Regular Season and CCS Tournament. Robey saw six players earn All-CCS honors while three earned All-Region recognition. John Wade was named a D3baseball.com First Team All-American, joining Brett Sanchez as the only Blazers to earn the national honor from the Division III outlet.

Robey joined Belhaven from Madison Central High School (MS) where he has had strong success in 10 years at the helm of the Jags' program. Most recently, the Jaguars won the MHSAA 7A State Championship this past spring with the championship round hosted at the Blazers' home field, Trustmark Park. Overall, Robey led Madison Central to three state championships overall as he and the Jaguars took home the MHSAA 6A State Title in both 2016 and 2021.

Under Robey, Madison Central had a year of national recognition in 2021 following their 6A State Championship as they were named Baseball America's High School Team of the Year and Robey was named the National High School Baseball Coaches Association Coach of the Year. Across his 10 years at Madison Central, Robey has led the Jags to seven MHSAA Regional Championships and his continued success has earned him numerous local Coach of the Year awards including being named the Mississippi 7A Coach of the Year and Mississippi Scoreboard Coach of the Year this past spring.

Prior to his tenure at Madison Central, Robey was the Head Coach at Lafayette High School in Oxford for three seasons leading the Commodores to two District Championships and was twice named District Coach of the Year. Robey began his Head Coach career at South Panola High School in Batesville where he spent 11 years leading the Tigers. He was named the Chickasaw Athletic Conference Baseball Coach of the Year in both 2005 and 2006 while at South Panola.

Robey's coaching career began with a pair of collegiate stops, serving as a Graduate Assistant Coach at his alma mater, Delta State, for two seasons from 1999-2001 before spending time as an Assistant Coach at East Central Community College in Decatur. Along with his storied coaching career, Robey has spent time working as an Associate Scout for the Colorado Rockies as well as serving as an instructor at baseball camps for Ole Miss and Mississippi State.

He also has worked with summer league program East Coast Baseball as a summer league coach and the Cotton States Collegiate League as a coach. Robey's journey within baseball in the Magnolia State dates back to his high school career at Taylorsville High School where he would then go on to play at the collegiate level at Jones County Junior College (now Jones College) and Delta State University.

Robey was an All-State third baseman in 1996 while playing at Jones and would go on to put together a strong career for the Statesmen in Cleveland, earning an All-Gulf South Conference nod at shortstop in 1999 while playing under legendary coach Mike Kinnison.

Coach Robey currently resides in Madison, Mississippi with his wife Ginger, son Walker, and daughter Cora.
